Coach Keri brings the experience and expertise to take the SFV Beach Program to the next level. Following her NCAA D-I and professional career in Glarus, Switzerland, Keri returned to Southern California in 2010 where she trained and coached top club and collegiate sand players at Hermosa Beach. The former Northern California CIF High School Female Athlete of the Year across all sports has played an integral part as SFV’s athletic trainer for the National and Power girls indoor programs which now dominate the region at almost every age level. Keri’s credentials include: National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified, Dotfit Nutrition Certified. B.S. Kinesiology - Exercise and Fitness Specialist - SJSU.
Beach volleyball is a rapidly emerging sport at both the collegiate and international levels, with more universities fielding teams every year. It is now the fastest growing sport in California, if not the nation. The SFV beach program provides athletes with the opportunity to learn the game while participating in a series of local tournaments or to become part of our NEW ELITE TRAINING PROGRAM. All players will dramatically improve their overall volleyball skills throughout the summer season while having a whole lot of fun outdoors with family and friends.
The SynergyForce Difference
“The beach game taught me great lessons about how to elevate the play of my teammate, or teammates, and how to anticipate and expect the ball so much more than the indoor game ever could. It taught me - even forced me - to be a much better all-around player. That allowed me to help our USA Olympic Team in many more ways than I ever could have otherwise.”
– Karch Kiraly, Head Coach USA Women’s National Team, three-time national collegiate indoor champion UCLA, Olympic Gold Medalist in both indoor and beach, FIVB’s Greatest Volleyball Player of the 20th Century.
Practices will be held twice a week all summer, Monday and Wednesday mornings or early afternoons to beat the heat. All teams will compete in four doubles tournaments with the option to add more. All tournaments are LOCAL with no excessive travel costs commonly associated with indoor season. Tournament formats are similar to indoor - grouped by age, with pool play followed by seeding into playoff brackets. While SFV has setup a practice and tournament schedule, the program offers flexibility to accommodate family vacations, volleyball camps, and school programs. Attendance at every practice is not mandatory.
